Back in 2012, I was just starting out in the home renovation business when I faced a challenge that would change everything. A client wanted a custom climbing wall in his condo, but I had no way to show him what it would look like—let alone prove that it wouldn’t damage his home, hurt resale value, or violate building codes.

So, I took matters into my own hands.

I taught myself 3D modeling from scratch using SketchUp. I pored over blueprints, structural measurements, and engineering consultations, carefully constructing a detailed 3D model of his condo. By collaborating with him in real time, I designed a two-story indoor climbing wall that was safe, beautiful, and exactly what he wanted. And yes—I landed the contract. (I even made my first-ever YouTube video about it!)

That one project turned into a lifelong passion. Since then, I’ve spent over 20,000 hours mastering 3D modeling, working on projects that range from tiny 3D-printable objects to massive industrial buildings the size of the Tesla Gigafactory.
